Patients who are satisfied with the volume and size of the breast, but the breast is drooping can have a breast lift. This will tighten the breast and lift the nipple to its normal position, thus restoring the youthful shape to the breast.

Breast lift, a cosmetic surgery procedure suited for people whose breast is drooping with the nipples pointing downward, below the level of the breast crease.
During the consultation Dr. Shureih will discuss all the options available to you, after complete history and physical exam. Your desires and sense of beautiful breast is discussed with you.
The nipple and areola remain attached to underlying breast tissue. This usually allows for the preservation of sensation and the ability to breast-feed. The excess stretched skin is removed. The incision needed in severe drooping of the breast involves an incision around the nipple areola, another incision down from the nipple areola to the breast crease. The third incision is located in the breast crease.
Newer techniques in breast lift can lessen the scars needed to lift the breast.

Dr. Shureih will also advise you if you need a breast enhancement with an implant. In that case your incisions might be less than the traditional breast lift incisions.
PREPARING FOR SURGERY
If you are a smoker you will be asked to stop smoking three weeks prior to surgery and three weeks after surgery. A complete history and physical exam by your family physician, along with full blood work is needed prior to surgery. Depending on your age and other medical conditions, a chest x-ray and electrocardiogram is needed. You will be asked to stop taking some medications and over the counter supplements before surgery. Birth control pills are to be stopped. All this and other instructions are given to you prior to surgery for your own safety and to lessen the complications.
The day of surgery you will be met by our surgical team.
Dr. Shureih will discuss all your questions. He will mark the breast in preparation for surgery.
Our Anesthesiologist will meet you discuss the anesthesia plan. Our nurse will ask few questions and prepare you for surgery.
You must arrange to have somebody take you home and stay with you for the first forty eight hours. Post operative instructions and Dr. Shureih contact numbers are given to you. It is important to follow all instructions given in writing and those discussed with you prior to surgery to assure easy healing and optimal results.
